Athletics3D is a great coaching resource that is useful for coaches of all skill levels. The problem with most coaching analysis tools is that you have to find your own videos to compare your athletes to and these videos are quite often using different camera angles to what you have recorded. Athletics3D allows you to view the technical models involved in multiple events from every possible angle. I would recommend every coach has this resource available to use as part of their coaching. As a long-standing coach in schools, I have found this app to be the best model to break down a process when explaining to a student. Much easier to explain a process than trying to compare the student to an Olympic standard youtube video. Simple, yet technically correct. I will use it over and over.

Recently I was afforded the opportunity to try out the new Athletics 3D App created by some well-respected and passionate track and field coaches and their design team. I must say that this coaching tool is a fantastic addition to the coaching ‘toolbox’. Using it during a drill acquisition session with some of my younger athletes, I found that they were able to instantaneously understand and comprehend the technical aspects and benefits of the drill/s being performed. Coupling this with video analysis and comparison, the athletes were able to observe what they were doing whilst comparing it to a simplistic and technically correct blueprint. I believe, in a world of ever changing technology the modern athlete is now very much in sync with such changes and learning via Apps. The Athletics 3D App now adds this beneficial and needed layer to the coaching experience of the next generation of young athletes. Overall, the Athletics 3d App is great and I for one, as a coach of both developing athletes and junior elite athletes will continue to use it regularly as a valuable coaching tool.
Thank you for giving Athletics North Queensland the opportunity to test this new innovated athletics app. We would have to say that this app is by far one of the best coaching resources produced for athletics within Australia over the last 15 years. A simple app that athletes, parents, teachers and coaches can all use to grow the sport of athletics. The easy to use, functioning app is very informative and reduces the confusing / grey areas seen in other coaching recourses.
